I have had my VIN now for 2 weeks and have been plugging it in to the Ford site daily to see if my sticker would display.

Well this morning it finally appeared. Does anyone know, does that mean the car is actually built now or what. I looked it over allot and I do see 3 different dates on the sticker.

Chicago is a 8 hr drive to Mpls. Maybe I will get it by xmas :)

12/9, 12/14 and 12/17.

Any ideas?

Here is the sticker, (I hope this HTML works). If I doesn't I will also post the link.

Ahh Geez,

I'm a little bummed, I just noticed the order got messed up. I also ordered the Contour seat, and that isn't on there. I checked my copy at it was indeed ordered.

I just phoned the dealer, they are going to see what they can do to fix it.

This order has been the car from ****.

Based on the sticker the build date is December 17th, that's about all you can get from it that I know of. Of course that's just scheduled, so it could change... like if they have to stop it to fix your issue :/ It was exact on my car though.

You can call ford customer service and they will give you more details on what is going on with the car. Mine took about 3 weeks after the build date to get here, but I think that is about the max it usually takes talking to other people. All together from date of order my car took just over 8 weeks from when I ordered to when it got here.

It's my understanding the build date was today with completion on the 17th as it leaves the factory.

I don't see how Ford has the mechanism to change an option this late in the game. I think once its this far, there are no changes.

I guess I will find out soon enough.

Anyone else have any input

I would be pretty safe in saying that, even if the car left the factory today, the chances of it getting delivered to your dealer by Christmas is VERY slim.

Besides, if the order isn't as you specified, you better hope they haven't built it yet.

Just refuse the car if it isn't as you requested, even if it hasn't been delivered to the dealer. You could get another order in within the next few days.

There was nothing they could do.

So they made me a better deal on an in stock SHO at their sister dealership.

It has a few more options that I really didn't want, but they are selling it to me at invoice minus 600, minus the rebate.

Its going to cost me about 2300 than the ordered vehicle.

Oh and I can get it on Thurs.

The car says 12 09 09 on the bottom, which is the build date. My sticker says 09 15 09 and that was its build date. That should roughly put you having it in the middle of January, that is, depending on the holiday scheduling and all. Not quite sure where you guys are seeing the Dec 17th at??

SHO u UP,
I agree, mine says 12/15/09 on the bottom. The dealer says its built, its just sitting somewhere waiting to be delivered. Now that is driving me nuts!

I knew the feeling. Heck, mine came in one day and the dealer's cpu still had TBD on his screen, even when they were unloading it. Go figure. Believe me, I know it can't get here fast enough for ya.

I know that with my Contour SVT they (Ford) provided a build number, does Ford have build numbers available for the new SHO's?? Is it one of the numbers on the window sticker, as the build date is listed, just wondering if anyone knows? I haven't contacted my dealer where I bought it yet, since I figure it may be right in front of me, but I will if I need too. Can anyone offer me some insght/guidance on this, Thanks!

Ron that depends.. My COA says the car was built on 9/11/09 I signed for the car on 9/15.. My build date was supposed to be 8/30 but mine was damaged to at the factory. so maybe the COA is producedon the day the car ships?

Either way worst case senairo, mine was assembled on 8/31 and I had it 9/15.

All vehicles have a build number, but the SVTs have a "unique build number" that is documented. I don't think the others do quite the same. You also get a SVT certificate with all the info on it too which is cool, but as far as I know, none of the SHOs have had a documentation sheet quite like the SVT name plates have.

Unless you have one ordered and built for you specifically, I think just getting that info may be really difficult.

Kirk, any word on your exhaust kits becoming for sale any time soon??

Do you want to try what I suggested above?

I just noticed all of the rapid spec packages end in B now instead of A. I would assume that means they are at job 2 already and shuffled the packages a little bit, like the rear view camera now being standard on all SHO's.

It's pretty nice that you can get a free engine block heater up there in MN too. Even though it can get just as cold over here in MI, it's not availible because we're not "north" enough :nut:. I installed a Ford one in my Crown Vic and love it.

Yeah, could be. In reality, build date doesn't mean much, it's when they ship it out. If it sits at the plant for a month, they are losing money. The only time they like to do that is when they were building inventory last summer, and held the cars for shipment until a certain date. You can never tell with ship times, though. That's a whole 'nother algorithm they use to minimize expenses. Your car could end up being routed through Dallas from Chicago before it gets to MA if that's the way they can save a few $$$.

What's that date on the very bottom of the window sticker? The oasis report says my build date is 8/26/09 and the date on the bottom of the sticker is 9/29/09. I bought the car on the 30th. I don't know when the car arrived at the dealership, it was a dealer swap.
