I've decided to sell my 1991 Ford Taurus SHO with just 86,500 miles. It was a tough decision to make because it has always been my dream to own a '91 SHO Plus. I bought this amazing example from another SHOForum member back in January and have enjoyed owning it while racking up just a couple thousand miles myself. Why sell it then? Because I need a daily driver-type car and that's just not how I treat the SHO (and my wife doesn't want three cars around). I would sincerely like to see it sold again to someone else in the SHOForum community who will treat it right.

As you can see from the pictures (and gallery), this '91 SHO Plus is in remarkable condition for a 19-year-old vehicle. The body has absolutely NO RUST. There are some minor blemishes, but nothing out of the ordinary for a vehicle this age. Likewise, the condition of the interior is excellent. Most importantly, this car is in top notch condition mechanically and received over $3,000 in maintenance – including its 60,000-mile service – within the last three years (see receipt). I have only repaired one item while owning the car, which was a bad ignition that kept draining the battery. So you get a brand new battery too!

Not only is the car great, but I'm also passing along a LOT of extra parts that will make sure she keeps running and looking beautiful.

List of extra parts (Note: NOS = New Old Stock)
  • NOS front calipers
  • NOS rear calipers
  • NOS front rotors
  • NOS rear rotors
  • original SHO clutch cable (rod conversion performed)
  • NOS SHO Plus Quadrant kit for clutch
  • NOS front headlights
  • NOS driver's side turn signal
  • NOS unpainted grille
  • Police grille green
  • NOS SHO Plus mirrors
  • 91 SHO original EATC
  • 91 SHO JBL speakers
  • NOS shifter
  • "24V DOHC" metal badges
  • Complete bra
Images of extra parts can be seen in gallery.

VIN: 1FACP54Y5MA251334

What Needs Work
  • Air Conditioning (was told it was likely the AC pulley but never checked it out myself)
  • JBL Stereo (totally stock stereo with rare CD option that worked when car was bought in January but recently began switching to CD source automatically when turned on)
  • A few faded spots on roof
  • Sunroof liner

PRICE: $5,000

Thanks for the compliments! I might be willing to sell the police grille separately DVP, you want to hit me up privately with an offer?

One of the very best SHO I've seen, well worth the money.

Good luck on the sale John. Out of curiosity, what other cars do you own?

WOW! I tell you what wow! I'm in the market for a nice Gen 1 (especially a Plus would be a bonus), but I'm afraid this one is just TOO nice it's priced out of my budget. Damn lucky to the new owner! Good luck with the sale!

This is the only car I own right now, my wife owns a Civic. Still considering what to buy next, but the wife will probably have a bigger say than she did when I bought the SHO ;)

To buy a nice car like this....I think it'd be worth not getting the wife's permission to buy beforehand and later dealing with the silent treatment, a few fights, and foregoing special benefits from the wife. After all, they won't be mad forever. :)

You've just described January 2009 for me ;) Just kidding, the wife supported the decision but didn't realize what she was getting, i.e. a second car that her husband would refuse to drive when it's raining :)
