Either that, or drill and tap it for a pipe plug.

I have a fab shop that I use for work that can TIG it up for you if you have to go that route though. Pretty reasonable on prices, but they're all the way down in Westerly.

I'm not worring about how much- i just wanna make sure it dont leak.

To understand where i'm going with my car - Click the link and read the thread. Read post #25 - the blower will be here next week and right now - it would be the only thing from keeping me from driving it.

Now I just talked to my buddies uncle @ Town Line and refered me to a guy named "guy" up in Chepatchet (sp) that works on fire trucks and tow trucks. He is up on rt44 past the Yamaha Boat dealership. He specializes in aluminum welding and custom fab work. Anyone hear of him?

Ok, I have updated the post over at TCCOA.COM

There are pictures updated. I brought the SC to the guy and explained to him what needed to get done. I asked him a price and he told me $20. Not to bad but I just want to make sure it doesn't leak. The guy also told me that i'd need to take it to a machine shop to make the filling flat with the rest of the plane. I'd take a DA to it but I don't want to mess that up.

Any ideas guys?

do your own aluminum welding with "alumaloy".

This is an aluminum alloy that melts at ~730° , melts with MAPP gas (or propane)

see some demos on youtube. Search "aluminum repair".

I used this stuff to replace an ear on an aluminum brake hub for a 1984 Honda 3 wheeler. It worked as advertised...stronger than the original aluminum.

I've also used it to plug an EGR port on an ATX intake to be used on an MTX car.

Every garage should have some.

Is it the round port on the passenger's side head that you need to plug? If so, I'd drill it, tap it, and install a pipe plug. Easier than welding, guaranteed seal, and not heating up the head so no machining needs to be done.
