to be honest, i thought i was very forthcoming with info. when i said we added some more "juice" i really thought everyone would understand

i mean, the car already picked up 7 tenths from timing and a/f changes, wasn't much more left in a base tune.

i got nothing to hide and never have on any car i've had. thats my 4th trip out since getting the car 3 weeks ago, and i've tried to give out all the info from each run.

the problem therein is that later on. when people are searching for info on the 2010, your posts are going to provide them with information. if they are looking to see what it takes to break into the 12's its much much easier if you simply say

"tonight we went 12.70's at 108 / 1.9 60'. we removed the passenger seat added 4-5 pounds of boost on top of the previous tune. not sure of my a/f's as i dont have a wide band but will report back."

then go into the story of the races. the facts are hard info that someone else can go to their tuner and provide. they will know what to expect.

you sir are on the front lines of the 2010 SHO modification. if i were you id be compiling as much tech info on this as i can. because someone else someday is going to be looking for the info you have.

i guess i should also mention i had the 1lb engine cover removed for the runs too lol

i'll continue to post the info as i get it

there is still more in that tune, it was the first chance to try it out on the track there are a couple little stumble points, i'm hoping to get a wide band in the car this week and do some data logging on it

i updated the pic of the timeslip, scanned it so it's a little easier to read

i did get a good launch pic from the photography guys there, i'll try to take a pic of the pic lol, the car actually squats good

That launch pic would be great!

Are there any plans to install a boost gauge? It's a wonder that there's not one from the factory, Ford had to know people would be dicking with boost and whatnot... Any idea what the stock boost is?

Nice times, nice progress.

I think most folks just aren't familiar with what can be done to a modern turbo car with just a few tweaks. With just an off-the-shelf Stage 1 Cobb tune, I dropped off about as much on ET as you did, and with a turboback exhaust change with the Stage 2 reflash, cars like mine run 13-flat.

Huge safety margins are built-in from the factory on turbos, so there's lotsa room to play.

What's wrong with a little more PSI? I mean, people here are running 15lbs....and are flying down the quarter mile at 13.9. :laugh_ti:

It's been said again and again, the gen1/2/3 is not a 1/4 mile car.
nobody here is running a dedicated gen 1 or 2 drag car...

EDIT: I think one reason people are showing hostility is that beefcake starts a new thread with each improvement. yeah, it's nice to know but I think it's a little excessive. How bout an "Official beefcake's jorney into the numbers less than 13 thread"?

My god, I leave for three days and the forum descends into douchebaggery. Now Beth's gonna come in here and lock this thread. Somebody needs to get laid.

Congrats, beefcake! I look forward to doing the same to mine when I get it in a year.

Beef; maybe you said in another post and I missed it; just wanted to verify what is the weight difference between the aftermarket wheels/tires (and what size are they) versus the stock 20's ?

me because it creates a ton of clutter.

and unless his drag sho is running a wheelie bar, cage, absoultely no interior and several other things that a "dedicated drag car" should have it isn't a dedicated drag car. he may stick to making 1/4 mile passes because he runs giggle gas but that doesn't make it a dedicated 1/4 mile car.

Not even that. The suspension changes you need to have a good FWD 1/4-miler would make it toally unstreetable.

I'm still surprised that no one has done it. 11s should be easy for any of the s/c cars that do.

I always thought his car was stripped, and caged? If it is, in a lot of states, it wouldn't be streetable.
