I would come BUT, 4.10's and no mufflers in the stang = bad bad headache haha.

I think I saw your car last Monday in Bloomington.

I'm back from my honeymoon and I finally have some free time. Wedding planning consumes your life!

I wanna come to this cruise, but I just can't commit just yet.

Drive

:bump:Everyone needs to keep thinking about this.

TIME: i feel that 830-9am is a good time to meet at the park and ride.(see post #14) By my calculations that gives us a 2hr drive to Duluth.:burnout:

We havent heard much from the Northerners.:dig: Im not familiar with the Duluth area. Does anyone have an easy place for all of us to meet you at. We seem to have a large list of activities. Should be able to keep busy all day.

Well, the exit that the park and ride is on is a new one, i believe it is athens drive on google maps, but it is marked as hwy 17 on 35. Its about half way between Stacy and North Branch. Just take a right off of the exit, and its a big lot about a block up on the right.

I agree that 8:30 would be a good time to meet, but i think we need to decide what we want to do, and what we want to leave out now, so we dont waste the day being indecisive.

Like i said before, i would like to go to Gooseberry falls, but its another hour up the north shore. Anyone else interested please say so, if we get enough interest we can go ahead and do it.

Here are some pics i found

And the DNR page

If you are NOT interested in that, please make suggestions of what you would be interested in. We only have a week to figure this out.

more ideas

I have been to goosebery falls and it should be really beautiful this time of year.

Another thought is the Alpine Slide at Lutsen Mnt. It will be open from 10-5. You ride a chair lift to the top of the ski hill and take a sled on wheels down a concrete slide. The only problem is Lutsen in farther up than Gooseberry falls so it really cuts into the day and could be a back up option. You can also take the ski lift to the top and just over look miles of trees changing colors.

There is also Split Rock Light house open 10-6. its on the way to Gooseberry but i believe you need to by a pass to get in cause its a state park.

I have seen all this before so I would prefer to stay closer to duluth and enjoy a few of the things mentioned before. JMO

I think I will, but not totally sure I'm gonna make it, but Goosebury falls and the lighthouse would be awesome to check out, have never been there. Only done a few things in Duluth, but it's been a long long time, so most anything is prob okay. Any Ship/boat tours would be cool. I can bring my Weber Q if the grilling thing ends up on the agenda?

Do you know if it's open for tours and/or if there's a charge or a park pass needed? I can check into it if you don't already know.

I have been to Gooseberry falls a few times. Fall is definitely the best time of year to go. As for the lighthouse I think the tours may be over, I am not certain but I went for a ride up the Shore last year about this time.:zoom::zoom::zoom:

Its been a few years since i was at the light house but i believe you need a state park pass to get in. a weekend pass would only be a few bucks. The light house grounds are still open for a few more weeks 10-6. not sure what they have for tours though. When i was young you could climb up the tower and touch the giant light but they stopped doing that. I think you can get into almost every other building on the ground though. they might even let you into the lower part of the lighthouse still but IDK.

SO is the 10th going to be the official date then? Cause it's going to be a 50/50 chance I can go then. I'm getting some pressure from the wifes Fam to go to this damn wedding! I'm so sick of having every weekend I have being consumed by someone elses crap that I have to attend!!!!!:cuss::banghd:
