As the title states I just had the AC recharged, they put two pounds into the system and nothing. The system does not ever seem to cool at all. So here is the questions. If I watch the ac compressor, when the system is turned to max ac is there anything that should happen?(like should I see it engage?) I dont here anything beside the engine running, should I hear something? Thanks in advance for all the help. I need my AC back!

There are a couple of things to do. First check your fuses if the fuses are ok then try to jump the lowside switch with a paperclip. To do so start the engine turn the a/c on unplug the switch its against the firewall and put a paperclip in the harness on the connector the clutch should engage. If it still doesn't engage plug the harness back in then take a long prybar and press the clucth into the compressor if the clutch engages the field coil in the compressor is bad. It is common on the atx SHO.

I wonder if your having a problem with the pressure switch.... Possibly the clutch.... when you turn it on look for the center part of the ac pulley to turn... you'll hear a loud click when someone hits the A/C button.

Its a magnetic clutch... the outside will spin freely until the circuit is closed.. engaging the magnets and spinning the pump / center part there... If its not.. its probally one of the 2 things I said.. That switch is on the dryer..(canister lookin thing.. 2 pin)

I am thinking the system may not be charged all the way, i am going to take it back to where i had it done and have check it again.

Are you jumping the plug on the harness? If the clutch doesnt engage if you jump the switch the field coil is bad in the a/c compressor. You can just buy the clutch, field coil, and the pully its like $110 its a lot cheaper then the compressor.

If they charged the A/C and it took 2 pounds of r134a then it sounds like you need to replace the orifice tube.

I am think that I just might replace the whole compressor, I think i will pick one up from someone on here. Then what else do I need to replace at the same time?
