And of course, Jasons point is valid about the difference between positive and non positive type superchargers. Positive designs mechanically trap and force air through. No back flow is possible. Non positive (centrifical), work more like a fan allowing pressure resistance and push back, and therefore can feel "laggy" (I know it's not a word), below a certain rpm.

i totally agree...however, i've seen nor heard anything negative outside of this thread about paul and ashley's work except people questioning their y pipe design. that aside, this isn't a good guy/bad guy thread, so there's no place for it. and i wouldn't care if you were doggin on ford performance specialists, NESHO or anywhere else...this ain't the place.

If I went around telling my potential customers competition how much they sucked, (Which I beleive they do) Id look like a POS, and Id have everyone returning the favor.
We're in it to make a living, I sure as **** wouldnt want people crapping on my name for the sake of just being a dick. They think it benefits them, but it really just makes them look desperate/jealous.
If its personal thats another thing, but there's still a time and a place for that stuff.

I get along with everyone. I'm a laid back kind of guy. Take what info you can from other's and then make your OWN decision. If mony was no object, we would all have boosted sho's with heavy duty gear sets and jet hot coated pipes. It turns out, most of us are poor, and not boosted.
P.S. I respect Jason for his expert tuning knolwedge. (Are you going to the convention?)

to make a committ to boost a SHO takes a lot of patience, wrench turning and a understanding that you are going to break ****. I would never boost a SHO that was my only daily as you willl find your self either drinking heavly or wishing you bought a freakin' million owner Mustang.
Congrats if you make that jump. Its not easy and has been frustrating.
However the moment you dust a car/bike you that on paper you should never had beaten its all good.
I will say that the Yamaha motor loves boost! I can't wait to have Tony's gear set and get a T-trim with my iddy bitty Reichard pulley that has been sitting in my desk drawer since the group buy.
No body has ever pushed these motors to the very limit on boost. We'll see and it would be worth an engine rebuild.

does anyone know what the highest amount of boost a SHO motor has seen so far? i imagine stock pistons can't take much, but i was more thinking about the block. for that matter, has anyone seen actual block failure because of boost?

Incorrect sir. Russ with FreakSho and Mike D with a black 91 broke stock cranks in Tx. They were not modified in anyway. But now FreakSho's is cryo'd. I'm sure it was just a freak occurance but it has happend.
Those cranks did not break because of too much power being applied to them though. As far as how much tq a crank can hanlde, we do not know yet. I am guessing over 600ft lbs.
