I PM'ed you as well, oh well. Your not the only member that ignore's me.

Anyway, still favoring SC's, I like the instant low end torque which I never got with my old Ford ****** GT turbo setup, subaru impreza or Audi 100 Quattro. And in between shifts there was always a slight delay.

Newer cars may spool quick but there is still lag, I hate lag.

I don't remember ignoring you. My inbox fills up daily though.

What type of blower are you running again? My STi has more instant low end torque than my vortech SHO could dream of having.

And of course, Jasons point is valid about the difference between positive and non positive type superchargers. Positive designs mechanically trap and force air through. No back flow is possible. Non positive (centrifical), work more like a fan allowing pressure resistance and push back, and therefore can feel "laggy" (I know it's not a word), below a certain rpm.

Jason. most of the time you drive me nuts.

but in this thread you have made me el oh el

:hail:

and can we quit the hush hush on our opinions of businesses work?

when they suck. people should know they suck. no matter who it is. because its not fair to let a new cat show up and not have a complete scope of what they are getting into.

if any business (jiffy ****, wal mart, sho shop, roush racing ect ct) did lousy work to someones car id expect people to warn me before i spent my money there.

i totally agree...however, i've seen nor heard anything negative outside of this thread about paul and ashley's work except people questioning their y pipe design. that aside, this isn't a good guy/bad guy thread, so there's no place for it. and i wouldn't care if you were doggin on ford performance specialists, NESHO or anywhere else...this ain't the place.

Everyone has their own way of doing things.. Gotta respect it, whether you can eat off their shop floor or not.

If I went around telling my potential customers competition how much they sucked, (Which I beleive they do) Id look like a POS, and Id have everyone returning the favor.

We're in it to make a living, I sure as **** wouldnt want people crapping on my name for the sake of just being a dick. They think it benefits them, but it really just makes them look desperate/jealous.

If its personal thats another thing, but there's still a time and a place for that stuff.

Wow this thread blew up!!!!!!

IMO....jason we know ur feeling towards this subject. Let it be. Its a freaking dead topic and its known. They know, we know, and quite frankly its f*cking old. This thread does have some decent info in it. IMO I think a mod should prun this thread ASAP

I agree with most of wat u say when it comes to the right way, but I also agree that u *sometimes* take it alittle far with the bashing.

Anywho. carry on :fight:

I get along with everyone. I'm a laid back kind of guy. Take what info you can from other's and then make your OWN decision. If mony was no object, we would all have boosted sho's with heavy duty gear sets and jet hot coated pipes. It turns out, most of us are poor, and not boosted.

P.S. I respect Jason for his expert tuning knolwedge. (Are you going to the convention?)

I respect Paul and Ashley for there "Get R Done" attitude.:woo-hoo:
You both put up great number's at Carlisle and it was HOT out!!!;)

to make a committ to boost a SHO takes a lot of patience, wrench turning and a understanding that you are going to break ****. I would never boost a SHO that was my only daily as you willl find your self either drinking heavly or wishing you bought a freakin' million owner Mustang.

Congrats if you make that jump. Its not easy and has been frustrating.

However the moment you dust a car/bike you that on paper you should never had beaten its all good.

I will say that the Yamaha motor loves boost! I can't wait to have Tony's gear set and get a T-trim with my iddy bitty Reichard pulley that has been sitting in my desk drawer since the group buy.

No body has ever pushed these motors to the very limit on boost. We'll see and it would be worth an engine rebuild.

btw: a heathly shot of nitrous cures all low end torque. :)

does anyone know what the highest amount of boost a SHO motor has seen so far? i imagine stock pistons can't take much, but i was more thinking about the block. for that matter, has anyone seen actual block failure because of boost?

Every thread in which I've ever seen Jason post has taken the same path. I've met or known very few people in my life who are afflicted with the "know it all" disease to his extent. My two cents.

I believe only the guys who had work on their cranks, like knife edging or some shit.

Incorrect sir. Russ with FreakSho and Mike D with a black 91 broke stock cranks in Tx. They were not modified in anyway. But now FreakSho's is cryo'd. I'm sure it was just a freak occurance but it has happend.

Those cranks did not break because of too much power being applied to them though. As far as how much tq a crank can hanlde, we do not know yet. I am guessing over 600ft lbs.

To the OP, I must apologize for the state of my turbo how-to thread, I really need to update it with the pics. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to PM me.
