Oh, I'm special... in a short bus kinda way!:nut:

Anyone have a recommendation for clamps? I know Ideal has a line of some nice marine clamps - speacially designed for silicone hoses (so there are no 'teeth' to cut into the hose). Anyone have a source???

Ideal makes good clamps, I have them for the intake couplers. We can offer them if needed.

Best clamps in the world: ABA. Made in Sweden. Now owned by the Norma Group of Companies which also make the best clamps in the world, that are made in Germany under their name: Norma.

Check out:

and

Every clamp in my SHO is an ABA clamp.

Keep an eye on your coolant concentration with silicone hose. I'm not knocking silicone hose - if I could afford it, I would buy them:

From Gates:

http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=1498&location_id=1175

and

http://www.gates.com/file_save_comm...module&file=Ind Fleet TT Hose Heat 2-2-06.pdf
I don't believe I'd be overly concerned with silicone hose water permeation in a passenger car application.

The conditions of Gates' testing were pretty extreme: 210ºF, 2-shift per day driving cycle - that's 4000 hours annually, and if that was at 30 MPH the vehicle would rack up 120,000 miles in a year. That's hardly normal passenger car use. A high miles-driven passenger car might lose a few ounces of coolant in a year, and it might be damn difficult to distinguish between loss from permeation through hoses and loss due to evaporation in the coolant recovery reservoir.

Cheers.

They are in fabrication in England. I do not have an updated ETA, but we will let the forum know as soon as we hear any updates.

that'd be fantastic, because now i gotta get another lower hose since i was stupid enough to think these would be in before the rubber lower hose failed on me. sprayed my CKPS and now i gotta tear the front of my motor apart again to get to it and replace it.

does it take this long to get the silicone hoses for the intake runners? because i'm gonna have to do those soon to and i dont think it'll be able to wait 3 months.

The intake couplers and vacuum hoses are made in the US, and they ship right away.

The Samco hoses have two things making them take longer. 1) it is a totally new product, so they had to make tooling. 2) Samco is located in England, so shipping takes a little longer. We are pushing to get everyone the hoses as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience.

yeah, i should have worded my post differently. i'm not blaming you for my CKPS taking a crap on me, i was just in a foul mood from some personal things going on and work stuff and then the car crapping the bed on me. the lower hose spooging coolant all over the front of my motor and thus onto my CkPS is no one's fault but mine. luckily i bought a spare motor with brand new sensors and 60k parts a while back and i have a spare Crank Sensor.

i'll be tackling it ASAP and most likely wont have to buy any extra parts.

gonna be nice when i get the valve covers and intake sent out for extrude honing and powder coating, and get my engine bay dialed in a little more.

but thanks for letting me know that the intake couplers ship immediately.
expect an order for them next month most likely, along with some other stuff. life keeps getting in the way of my SHO.:munch:

Well we have pictures of the hoses up: Samco

We also had all of the hoses made so you can get the entire kit, for both ATX or MTX: Samco Full Kit

Just the heater hoses for those who want to add on: Samco Heater Hoses

Ill have heater hose pictures up for the ATX up later. If you want the entire set get your orders in now!

We will be getting the first sets to test out and if they work we will order the rest!

Matt,

group buy is closed, so what about those of us who wanted the full set and were part of the group buy? It got dropped to just the upper/lower. There should be a discount for the full set for those of us who did the original buy in.

Let me know.

Scratch that, just noticed the add-on for us and the price difference for the upper/lower without group buy

I'll likely add the others after the convention
