H.I.D. Upgrade- Lamp Out Warning Dummy Light??

Hi everyone,
I purchased the new bi-xenon kits from the group buy listed here: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=97641

Because of the way they are configured & installed, the kit only utilizes the one factory headlamp socket and the other is left blank, which of course the car doesn't like so I get that stupid "Lamp Out" warning light on the dash. A friend of mine thought he knew a way to trick the car into thinking it was fine but it didn't work.

Has anyone else ran into this on this or any other kits? And if so, can you tell me how to do it? It really drives me crazy seeing that damn light so bright on at night.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I painted my lightbulbs black and left them hanging and I have the HID's in the headlight assembly I cut the connectors off and wired it off the battery with a switch and that solves the problem I thought the headlight bulbs would overheat and blowup when I painted them black but they didn't they still shine on under the paint.

If it does, I've yet to notice any ill effects. Been unplugged since the LED tails for the Gen 2 were introduced on eBay; I bought the first pair.

Hm. I think I may try this for my HID install, instead of cutting the two wires as in the jpg above. I like the reversibility of an unplug vs. a cut. Thanks.

Really? I just clicked it again and it showed just fine.

Let's try this instead:


The basic gist of it is you cut the grey/yellow (G/Y) and brown/light blue (B/LB) wires coming out of the lamp-out module above the glove box and terminate them safely so they don't touch anything.

If I properly understand the way this works, I think that this disables the headlight functionality of the LOM, while still leaving monitoring of the other lights. Unplugging the module altogether would disable the entire lamp-out system.
