Yeah that's pretty rediculous even with all the maintenance and after market parts that car is not worth that much. I saw another ad he had with a white ATX he said the Blue 95 MTX is a 10 second car that ad claims he is a real SHO Nut or maybe that he is Surely Nuts?..

this was my sho, but i had my SVT contour first. my friend owned this car for years before i got it. i bought it as a winter beater, it just happened to have a lot of aftermarket parts on it.

and no, you wouldnt keep the SHO...... my SVT can and will out handle any sho out there, and it'll spank 99% of the sho's i'll ever see on the road. sorry guys, SHO's aren't half the car that my SVT is. of course, its far from stock.

this guy is a real sho fan. he has more than two SHO's but only 2 are on the road right now.

the new engine (so i'm told) is just a rebuilt 3.2 with 3.0 cams. tweaker tuner, pro-flow maf, ported/half shafted tb, custom CAI, and exhaust. i think it has headers too, which it didnt have when i got it. i know for a fact its got tokiko struts and eibach springs, shoshop butterflies and ported end tanks (to match the bbb's). its also got a billet underdrive pulley kit, minus the water pump pulley because i swapped it. (overheated in traffic, who underdrives a water pump?) its a pretty solid car. it had a tiny bit of rust on teh rear quarters that i cut out and fiberglassed, i think he's had it painted since.

this car will never do 10's unless its pulled by one of them 10s turbodiesel's LOL. however, its a nice car. every part he says he replaced is true, though he doesnt state that its got a motor swap in it now..... it does. he blew it up right after he bought it from me (old motor burned oil, he let it get low or something on accident and spun rod bearings)

:rolleyes:Jeremiah Has him beat...

So what does he think everyone else is ******** and will pay 7100 for 95 MTX with ??? miles? If anyone buy's the car it will be either;
A) A really dumb young 16-18 year old that will destroy it within the first 100 miles.
B) A real SHO enthusiest that will set him straight on his price and probably get it for 3000.

i'll say he got the car from me for a steal, but he also did a lot to it. i wouldnt say he'll get 7000 (nobody will ever pay that, ever) but he will get over 3000, or he'll keep it. i know the guy.

its a damn nice sho. is he crazy on his asking price, yes. but he's got it up for more than he wants for it too, i'm sure.

Based on figuring the used car 1/2 theory (whatever is said to be done to it, figure only half is down to it unless proven otherwise). I would stick behind Vnuk1's idea of 3k...maybe 3500 but no more than that. Unless one of two reasons listed above.

Also if he has that many sho's why isn't he on the forum, he could be a great asset to the community if he was on here.

everything that he says is done, is done, and i will stand behind him on that, because i know its done. it has to be done, or he'd never have driven the car. when i sold it to him,

the subframe bolts were all new. i redid them, but the bushings were bad. i saw the car parked in bloomington and the subframe bushings were redone. the power steering rack was leaking a bottle a day when i sold it to him. he replaced that the weekend after i sold it to him. i'm sure you would be able to see if it wasnt, because it was at a steady drip when i sold it. the rear struts, strut mounts, rear wheel bearings, one front bearing, sway bar bushings all around, moog end links, tires, "rod shift play fix", and front subframe welding was done by me.

the clutch and flywheel were done by my friend before me. the transmission was rebuilt with new shift forks, reverse gear, and 1st and 3rd gear syncro's, because the day my friend bought it, reverse gear went out so he redid th whole thing.

its a nice car! worth 7k? no! worth 4k? yes!

there's no 1/2 rule here guys. its all there. its got a couple little tears in the leather, and the carpet could be replaced. that's all i can say about the thing. its decent.

It could likely sell for that (7k) if it were in excellent bone stock condition. Based on pics and info posted 4k is realistic, but of course would need to see in person.

Ah, yes I would keep the SHO. I have no interested in having a contour, svt or not, for many reasons over mine or any nice SHO's no matter what it will outhandle. If I liked the csvt over SHO's then I would have them instead of 4 current SHO's and 3 others previously. I'm sure most others here feel the same, that's why we are on the SHOForum with SHO's and not on the Contour forum. Nothing against the contour, just not for me as well as most others here.
Doesn't matter how fast it is or what it'll outhandle, It's personal preference where many factors are considered as to what car one likes over another.

How much tracking you done with the conotur and SHO's? I know atleast 10 guys that are likely to take any contour with there SHO any day on most tracks. Bring that thing to one of the convention road courses and I think you will be in for an awakening. And your right, the SHO isn't half the car the csvt is, it's twice the car.

LOL dude i've been around sho's for about 9 years now. i've owned my contour for 5. SVT's are twice the car a SHO will ever be.

I had both. I raced both. I have been on road courses.

i also am in love with SVT contours, and SHO's all the same. they are both great cars IMO. contours have less aftermarket, believe it or not. still though, SHO's are much harder to maintain as they age. my personal preference, having driven about 20 sho's, owned 1, raced many, and owned an SVT? i take the SVT. but i'm still on this forum because i still want another SHO.

You should probably save this for the contour forum. It would probably be best.
