I don't see anything in those articles (nor any other article ever written) that proves that there is a correlation between ice melting and human activity, and that's my entire issue with "climate change" -- nobody has proven to anything close to a scientific certainty that anything we humans are doing or not doing has the slightest impact on the climate. It's all theoretical conjecture, hypothesis, and assumption. The ice is melting is a credible fact, but the theories and assumptions behind why the ice is melting are not. Just because a number of scientists have elected to agree on a theory despite the lack of proof doesn't make it true. The vast majority of the scientific community once elected to agree that the earth was flat; until they were proven wrong.
We are told we must simply have "faith" that the scientists are right. It's akin to religious fervor. We are presented with circumstantial evidence, with no actual proof to back it up. We are told that if we don't act immediately that we are all doomed; we can't wait for proof as then it will be too late. Sadly, "climate change" has become a cottage industry where various groups are fighting for money, and once money is involved it clouds their motives and makes any of their "conclusions" suspect. There are also substantial portions of the world's population that envy or dislike the way others live their lives, and they have gotten on the "climate change" bandwagon as a simple means to an end to manipulate and control how those people live their lives.
For the record, I (along with probably 99.9% of others who are skeptical about human beings having the slightest impact on the planet's climate) do not support pollution, dirty water, or anything of the sort. I don't dispute that the ice is melting, but I do dispute the conclusion that it is melting because of human activity and not because of a natural climatic cycle. I love the great outdoors and enjoy fresh air and clean water, but I'm not going to blindly sacrifice my way of life simply because a group of scientists (even if it was a majority) told me I had to without any sound science to back them up.
It's the ultimate in arrogance to think that human beings have influence over the earth's climate or worse that it can be controlled. If the same conclusions of the "climate change" proponents were applied to earthquakes or volcanoes or solar activity it would be immediately dismissed as nonsense, but because everyone wants clean air and clean water many have been "guilted" into blindly accepting these theories.
I am an eternal optimist. I truly believe that necessity is the mother of invention, and that every day that goes by brings us closer to the ideal of living the best life possible. If you look at the quality of life that we live today compared to our parents, grandparents, and so on, it only keeps getting better. Countless technological advancements have abounded without any underlying fear or panic forcing their invention. I am confident that we will reach a point of advancement where things like pollution are no longer an issue, that our technology and intelligence will adapt to our ever changing world and things will keep continuing to improve as long as humans inhabit the earth.
