This is a well written post. The articles were not meant to tie human activity to ice melting. Simply, I posted the links to acknowledge the fact that it is melting.

I fully agree with the above statements. I am neither a theist or a alarmist.
I am more worried about the control you are speaking of.

What I am confused on is the fact that I seem to be taken as a proponent of global warming. That is not the case. I do not follow that doctrine.
But I do appreciate your well written post.

Alex
Thanks.

My bad, I should have read more carefully before concluding you were saying something that you weren't! :bonk:

Normally this kind of discussion would have been immediately squashed because it risks becoming political and running afoul of the forum rules. It's refreshing to see that occasionally we can have discussions about complicated issues and remain civil and courteous while doing so.

There may just be hope for us all yet! :salute:

Well, I did not define my position as eloquently as you did. Secondly, there is a lot of hype out there to contend with. Sometimes its hard to muddle through it.

Yes, I see how this thread was teetering on the brink of lock down. Much respect to the mods who let this play itself out. Its shows they still have trust in the members to keep within the rules. And that is also refreshing.
:thankyou:

Cheers all!

agreed! it goes to show everyone that a touchy subject can be discussed without verbal beatdowns and implications.

kudos to everyone.

i agree. its easy to get wrapped up in the political and scientific hype attached to subjects such as these. you pretty much have to use your head and try not to be a zombie when it comes to this stuff.

and thanks again to the mods. its nice to see we can discuss these things from time to time. healthy debate is good for everyone. as long as it dosent turn ugly (as so many of these threads do)
