Damn I love this car!!

hello everybody. since the late 80's when they first came out, i have been interested in the SHO because i always thought it odd that of all cars, ford uses the taurus to create a speedy sedan sleeper.

i had been looking for a few days for a new car and i was very happy to see a 94 SHO in forest green with only 106k on the odometer being sold for $1500. due to no AC, radio, and forthcoming registration issues, i talked him down to $1100.

the car is clean with not a single dent, very little paint fade and chipping with only some leather cracking in the upholstry and a beat up headliner as issues on the interior.

when i finally got behind the wheel and hit that throttle all i can say is WOW!! this car is one piece of ace. the speed and quickness were fantastic and i can't wait to get behind the wheel again. I LOVE THIS CAR!!

without out even having asked a single question yet, i'm sure this site is going to become an important part of my automotive life so thanks for creating it. thanks fer havin me and i'll see you all around. laters.

thanks a lot for the welcomes guys. even though i still have 3/4 of a pack of smokes, i just had the urge to go get another pack at the store (quickly). every time i drive it i'm as giddy as a schoolboy.

now for the darker side......

ok everybody, level with me. how much of a pain in the ass is this car going to be and how much time am i going to spend under it ?

How often you are under depends on a few things. How well it was maintained, how hard you push it daily, and how obsessed you become with it.
The good news is, comparatively, regular maintenance items for the car are relatively cheap and easy to repair. (from my personal perspective)

hallelujah! i tend to beat up on cars a little bit but not too much. i'm not a mechanic although i can be pretty handy with a haynes manual. i have to say though, one look at that motor and i was very intimidated. it's scary lookin man!!

she's only got 106k miles on her so i'm hopin she's still short enough in the tooth to be too much of a handful.

can you tell me in your vast experience what types of things usually go wrong with these cars. not the full laundry list, just the things that happen quite a lot that i really need to be wary of. i'd really appreciate it.

well she's bone stock for now but i couldn't ask for much more as far as condition. especially for the price. i'm looking forward to slowly but surely tuning her up and turning her into a beast. either that or she'll blow up on me and i'll sell her for $500.

take care of her and she will run for a long time, there are guys on here with 300k+ on there SHOs still running strong
