Well I have been trying to figure out my idle problem and one of the things I decided to do was the change the sparkplugs. With 64K on the motor and not knowing the history I figured it would be good place to start. After finding oil in the plug wells, one thing led to another, time to do the upper 60K.

Once the manifold and valve covers were off I just kept pulling parts, I guess I will do the lower 60K as well, good thing as the water pump is leaking from the weap hole. In addition to the regular maintenance I am changing out the crank and cam position sensors, throttle position sensor and modifying the harness so the car thinks its in neutral and working in a speed sensor, all things that could be affecting my idle according to my research.

DAM, I wish I had more room in this car to work, as you can see its kinda tight. :laugh_ti:

Yeah, we SHO powered buggy guys have it real hard.  The Other Woman is even easier; her rear cage unbolts.

Do you want to borrow our shim kit?

I might have a new waterpump also.

I will contact you later this week, I am in no hurry to complete this project and still have to order all the parts.

PS, dropped my MD4S off to Rich last week. Turns out I will need a replacement case, I guess Lee really beat up on the old one. Rich had a used case he is selling me and will be putting it all together. I will have a little more into this then I thought but still way less then a new one so I am happy.

You're using an ATX EEC? Don't wire it to neutral, wire it to Drive or you'll have a rev limit at 4k. The starter enable circuit is separate, so you can enable start anytime and hardwire the selector sense to Drive and you'll be set.
