I have the itch to make some fun with my 93 MTX. The car is bone stock, but it in excellent shape. A full 60k has been done. Nothing looks out of sync and she runs very well.

I would like some assurance that the Zex kit that is sold through Midwest SHO is going to be a good choice for me. I do not want to add a LPM and I have a brand new Ford fuel pump that I installed.

The only other Mods that are going on this car are the DynoMax cat back and a high flow Y pipe. Both are already bought.

Through searching, it seems to be very reliable power. Up to a 75 shot stock is fine with me. I just want something that will be fun to tool around with.

If someone can help sway me in one direction or the other, I would appreciate it.

Zex Kit 82011 Is A Great Choice, Simple Install And It Works Well. No Lpm Is Needed, But The Stock Ford Fuel Pump You Are Using Should Be Upgraded To A 155 Unit As A Safety Measure. Remember To Switch Plugs To Copper Units, Autolite 3923's Are $.99 And Available Anywhere. With A Proper Install The 70 Shot Is Hugely Effective And Will Be A Lot Of Safe Fun.

When you upgrade the fuel pump you need to upgrade the fuel regulator, you can get one from shonutt. With nitrous you shouldn't get an LPM, you should get a Tweecer.

When You Upgrade The Fuel Pump Getting An Aftermarket Fuel Pressure Regulator Is Not Necessary At All. And The Tweecer Being Better Suited To Nitrous Is Bunk As Well, With A Dry Kit There Is No Need For Tuning Of Any Kind.

As Tyler said... you only need the aftermerket FPR if going with a very big fuel pump (ie 255 lph, which is unnecessary for this power level). The 155LPH pump mentioned will be more than adequate and does not affect fuel pressure at all.

With only a 75 shot you won't be risking much in the motor. Just make sure you jet a little on the rich side for fuel to be safe. A Wideband Oxygen sensor would be a great idea in the future if you want to really ensure the safety of the motor.

No tuning should be necessary.

All this go for autos too? I would only start off with a 50 shot then maybe go to a 75. I want to keep the tranny safe too though, not spraying through the shifts.

yeah, whats the deal with nitrous and ATX, can someone explain that? I have the same kit, and am wondering. Where do you mount the nozzle too, any intstalls with pics? so far what you need to run a dry up to 75 shot is.

155 lph fuel pump- ?$?$
copper spark plugs? autolite 3923- .99$ a piece

Wow, 0 for 2. Sorry everyone, I'll just shut up now...

I thought all aftermarket fuel pumps needed aftermarket regulators. Oops
I don't understand why you don't need a Tweecer. I thought you had to back off the timing when using the nitrous and things like that. Even if you don't need to do that, using the Tweecer would get you more power, right?
Thanks for educating. :corn:

i installed this kit, with the fuel pump, and colder plugs. The kit recommends retarding timing by 4-degrees, but with the plugs i got, the gap is -4 from what the stock SHO plugs are so that took care of the timing, and damn is that fast. I fabbed up an intake for it and piped the nozzle underneath so its all sneaky like. I'll have a post up in the kills section real soon. Actually the plugs that i needed that burn colder are the stock plugs out of an integra, so every one has them, my mechanic, Shane Noble, at Tintmasters in fargo was freakin out cause he couldn't belive that the plugs were the same. He really knows his stuff, you should all hit up thier site.

ummm, a colder plug does not retard timing. if your mechanic believes this is the case then he should not be your, or anyone else's mechanic.

DVJ38, the reason no tuning is required is because this is a relatively small shot of nitrous. even 70 hp is small, timing really needs to be pulled out when using large shots, say 125hp and up

no not because the plut is colder dude, the plug gap is different, it doesn't retard timing just makes up the difference that is needed.
