I currently have a Livernois stage III 91 octane tune on my 2010 SHO (with an SCT X3 device).
Love it - I've had 70,000 trouble free miles on this tune in the last few years.
I want to add a 3-bar map sensor, BUT found out I have to dish out $600+ for the MyCal to do so...

What would you do?

Even though I already have a Livernois tune, spend $600+ to get the MyCal device and updated tune
or
Keep the X3 device and get a new tune through Unleashed for $150 (he confirmed he can still do tunes for the X3)

Any advice or additional considerations to be made?

If you go the unleashed route, one thing to consider is your O2 sensors. I tested the unleashed waters this summer, but he was unable to make any changes to the initial tune do my O2 sensors flat lining at WOT. Mine is an 11, so if you have never replaced them on yours, factor that in as a possible expense. Even if you do them yourself, it's another 200 bucks or so, more if you have someone else do them.

Did you buy the X3 from Livernois? If so, I would call Cody and see if there is any chance of getting a discount if you upgrade to a MyCal.

I ran into the same issue as ridered74 during one of my dyno sessions at LMS.

The wide band 02's crapped out. Wasn't ever expecting that addt'l expense.

Bruce offers a good suggestion as well, as I did the same (got a discount on the MyCal device) by returning my SCT to LMS.

It helped though that I bought the SCT device directly from them, and at that time, they were parting ways with SCT & migrating to the My Calibrator platform.

It's worth a shot.

If you bought the device from us i can see what i can do for you on this and try to work with you, being it is an extremely out of date product now for us and there isnt much room but i can always try. Shoot me a PM with your name so i can take a look at some things for you

IIRC, I purchased a used X3 device and then purchased the tune from Livernois, so they may not work with me on this...

Would I need an X4 (vs X3) to do any datalogging or revised tunes from Unleashed?
I just got ODB Fusion the other day, maybe I can tell if the wideband O2's are working properly. I'll check and see if that's an option. Thanks for the heads up!

Should I just stick with my existing Livernois tune for the short term? or is the 3bar MAP worth the upgrade?

call 'em anyway. never hurts to ask!

no need to datalog with unleashed unless you want to. tunes are 80-90% of max tweaking when first delivered to you. when you want specific little things addressed that still usually does not require datalogging.

BTW, I am told Unleashed no longer sells devices nor tunes for CA registered vehicles, this was a shock to me, but maybe I read the message wrong ...

3 bar map sensor is definitely a nice modification to have

The 3 bar map is worth it if all you have to pay for is the sensor itself. If you have to shell out money for a new tuning device as well, I don't think that the bang for the buck would quite be worth it.

Thanks guys!
To their credit, Livernois said they might be able to throw in a windshield banner...
I respect and do admire Livernois, but I'm an Unleashed customer now.

CAI, plugs, 3bar, tune, upgraded brakes on the way! Should be a fun weekend.
