This radiator was replaced with a brand new Ford unit a little more than a year ago.. (have the service record for it)

Its leaking already.. How long are these plastic rads supposed to last?? Time to start shopping for a good copper or alumnium one.

Edit : Damm wasserpumpers.. Hehe madflame

You might try recrimping the endtanks with a set of vise-grips before replacing it. Some have had good luck doing so. Check out shotimes for the procedure!

I have characteristically seen a lifetime of about 4-5 years from the radiators, both OEM and aftermarket, that I have installed on my car. Since the last part was a GDI unit with a lifetime warranty. Since the radiator fails in a non-catastrophic manner and the effort to install it was rather modest, I think a 4-5 year service life is acceptable for this device.

I will certainly give that a try in the meantime.. Just disappointing is all.. I got the axles fixed, and the rear brakes.. Just thought I was getting on the road to having the car in just about perfect mechanical shape..

Oh well.. Too be expected I suppose..

update on the rad. leak.. Turns out the overflow tank has a crack in the bottom of it.. Of course, that would cause a "leak".. Otherwise.. I feel better now, knowing its only an overflow tank leak..

I'll probably just j/y another one.. Unless I can fix this one with a straw and a lighter or soldering iron.. (plastic welding)
