Greetings,
I am looking for a Koni 8641-1281 Sports insert. I have two that need to be rebuilt, but one has the shaft cracked at the top where the threads meet the solid portion of the shaft.

Thanks,
Michael

Good luck. There is a facebook group for these cars. I would try that too. You need as many people as possible to get eyes on this.

Did you mean 8641-1287? That's the insert model for the Gen 2 & 3 SHO.
The reason I ask is that well . . . I have one . . . I believe it's the long body though. I bought 3 from another user a couple years ago and there were 2 short body models that got installed. The third has been hanging out in the garage, waiting for that day . . .

FYI,
8641-1287 = front
8641-1288 = Gen1 rear (long)
8641-1323 = Gen2 rear (short)

The rears can be installed on either generation with the appropriate strut housing.

The strut is adjustable buy putting an included **** on the top of a small tab.

I measured the strut as I was looking for something similar from Koni.

Please let me know if this is the exact model you have.

Thanks,
Michael

FWIW, I'll get a pic of mine with dims when I get a chance. It's just the strut (clean), without the housings.
