wreck and airbag

My g/f rearended someone yesterday and the airbag didnt deploy!The airbag light has been flashin 9 times for about a week.Does this have anything to do with the light flashing?How do i fix this fault?Thanx

Of course it does. The 9 codes refers to "Primary crash sensor circuit - open or high resistence." The air bag will not get the signal to pop without this sensor.

Either the crash sensor is failed or the connector or wiring to it is damaged or disconnected. You will have to refer to a service manual that includes the air bag system or ask a Ford technician where the sensor is located.

How hard did she rearend this person? If it wasn't enough to do fairly serious front end damage, the airbag may not have been triggered regardless of the system condition. I'm guessing there is a bit of damage to the front end, and I'd personally worry about it first, then the airbag.

have you had the front sensor off latley?>
it is easy to forget to tighten the sensor and it will throw that code
