I just priced my suspension, basically alittle better than stock...
Priced at advacne auto parts...
1-Struts:Monroe Sen.
Front- $123.76
Rear- $142.96 = $266.72
2-Strut Mounts :
Front: $28.88
Rear: $27.97 = $56.85
3- Moog CC's:
Front: $61.48
Rear: $76.96 = $138.44

for a grand total of= $462.01..... :oogle:

and thats just for a better than stock suspension which isnt that bad... but still...I think once in, everything will work together very well... as it stands, i have monroe sen. in the front with the stock motorcrafts in the rear (still good when i did the front, P.O. must have replaced them) and this setup holds really well, alittle soft when just crusing, but into the turns it tightens up... i would like to keep it firmmer all the time, which may happen with the new struts/coils... coils are also going to be cut.
oh yeah, im probably going to get a 26mm RSB as well....

After that i do believe i will have a some what "full" suspension'd car... eh?! :naughty:

any suggestions, comments?

that's not a full suspensioned car.. :p

I'm a little closer.. just need to install my new parts.. so far I have intrax springs, H-brace, 26mm RSB, and FSTB installed.. but I have Tokicos, SFCs, TCE adjustable control arms, new LCAs, and new front strut rods.. along with a bunch of TPR bushings.. I think after that then I'll have a semi 'full suspensioned' car.. ;)

i have TPR every where on the subframe, along with the rear strut rods... front strut rods are new as well...

i know its not a "full" which is why i put " " around it.... ok, its a well equiped suspension... smart ass..... :p

and i really dont see the need for control arms... if anything i might put in some GM's... now if i had coilovers, then yes...

I might put in a FSTB.... maybe...

I spent 405 on tokicos,250 on intrax only to cut a coil on the fronts, thanks to dale telling me if you look for the monroe sensatrack strut mounts on Advance autoparts website they are much cheaper. I believe it was 23 for the front pair and the same for the rear pair. Saves a little there. I also did the alsfb's which were something like 100 bucks. I also spent 528 bucks on tires for this thing and an extra 100 bucks for some straight slicers to cure my vibration... oh yea and a ton today for an alignment........ sigh...... and thats not even half of the money ive spent on this thing so far. But Bandit is great, best driving and handling car ive ever owned. Fits me like a glove. So for a grand total counting initial investment i have something like 3k invested into the car. Considering the reliability now that ive done all maintanance and the performance it has now you cant do any better for the money.

Why do you want to go with Monroes? I had them on both of my shos originally and i hated them. The most soggy feel ever. I understand if your wanting a cushy ride but i thought u wanted a slot car like me :p

Edit: oh and for what its worth i just had mine aligned today at national tire and battery otherwise known as NTB. Ive got cut intrax on the front and uncut intrax on the rear. I drilled the spot welds on the fronts but left the rear alone and had a 4 wheel alignment done. It was all able to be brought back into spec like it was a normal car. No need for the control arms on the rear for me, and im pretty darn low.

Ok, my mistake.... i thought that price was for each of the strut mounts....

I might be getting some intrax here soon, depeneds on what this guy says about them.....

as far as struts go.... if i can find a deal on tokicos or maybe even koni's :p then i'll be in business....

i can go get the strut mounts then.... i thought that was the price for each... thats why those prices were so high... :slap:

i do want a really firm ride, but then i dont want too harsh.... daily driver.....
that why i wanted the M/S's, from what i hav had they seem ok... and even on the run, they preformed really well. but they had a nice ride.. still alittle soft though...

The key thing is replacing everything. When I redo my suspension this winter, I'm pulling the whole assembly out and pitching it. Replace the mounts, the bearings, the bushings, the bellows, the pinch bolt.....Everything. You'll kick yourself in the butt if you spend the time and money replacing struts and springs only to have a mount go bad on you after a month.

That being said, has anyone switched their front strut mounts to the adjustable ones? Is it worth it?

I see no point in them if all you have to do is drill the factory welds out to get it back to spec. I have a coil cut on my intrax on the front of mine and they didnt have a single problem getting it back to spec. All because i drilled the spot welds out and mine is very low.

I did that on my last SHO, but for the extra $10-$20 for the adjustables, I'm wondering if that isn't a better solution...And one that doesn't have me hacking into the unibody.

wait, where are you seeing these adjustables for only 10-20 more than the normal ones? THe ones i thought you were speaking of were the ebay ones that are something like 100 bucks or so.

I got mine from Advance auto parts but those look like the same ones i got. The 27 and 28 price tag was for the front pair and rear pair, came with bearings, hardware and everything you need.

RockAuto's got them (the adjustable ones) for $50 apiece. The standard Moog units are $40 apiece.
