Wouldn't start, then did with no RPMs ?

Out of the blue, my SHO wouldn't start, after driving to my wife's work. Just turned over without firing up. Tried a pump on the gas pedal. No help. It even sounded like the engine was bucking a bit. I starting worrying about a timing belt issue ! Maybe crank position sensor. I had both changed not THAT long ago. Maybe 10K miles. Then, it finally did start, but the tach was at zero. It didn't feel like it was running right. I popped the hood and pressed on the connectors on the electronic boxes attached to the intake. Sorry. I can't remember which one is a VSS and what the other is. One by the passenger side and one on the back of the intake. They felt tight, but the RPMs worked, when poked my head in the car. I had a check engine light, which did go out, and I'll read the codes ( I hate counting flashes ) and post the error in my next remarks.

Is this indicative of an electronic component failure ?

The codes I got, don't show errors that I can't account for by not turning the wheel, or pressing the brake, or moving the gear selector during the test.

I think these were the KOER results.
536 Brake on/off circuit ( Didn't press the brake pedal )

521 Power Steering Pressure didn't change ( Didn't turn the wheel )

632 Torque Converter Solenoid ( Didn't change gears )

These are the KOEO tests:
433 I haven't found this one

539 A/C on during test. ( I turned the AC off too late. )

762 No idea. Not on the list I have.

How hard is that to replace ? I have the book in the garage, but the Helms book is NOT good with an index.

I have a feeling it's pull the intake and then something on the passenger side.

Search function works, in this forum.

I found a link with pictures. I have an ATX , so it might be slightly different. It doesn't look hard. Now I gotta' find the price for one.

its not hard there are 2 5.5 mm bolts holding it in.

you can always unplug your cam sensor it will start hard but should start that way it wont go in or out while driving till you get it replaced.

also you can pick them up usally at advanced auto for about 26 dollars

It's easy, at least on the MTX. I did remove the p/s reservoir and moved it to the side to have better access. As stated, it's about a $30 part.
