Work Manuals?

Didn't know where to put this and figured this was the best place. Anyways I have the Chiltons book for the 89-95 Taurus, (I have a 95 ATX) it has the SHO in their but not much detail. Is 'Helms' a better manual, and if so how do i get it and how much $. thanx, Doug

You can get them directly from Helms at http://www.helminc.com, which are about $90 for the Ford shop manual. You can usually find them on eBay more in the $20-$30 range.

I've posted this before...you can ge the complete factory manual (on cd-rom) off of ebay for 8 bucks.

And the computer in the garage is the next purchase.

It's pricey, but there's no substitute for the Factory Shop Manual (Helms) sitting next to you in the car while you're working on it, or on the bench right there. The CD's are nice, but I prefer the book manual.

www.books4cars.com has the Helm manuals for the SHO for certain years, and the prices are typically lower.

It's also nice to have the printed version if (Heaven forbid!) you break down, or just need to do maintenance away from home! Even just changing a flat, having those lug nut torque values handy will save you a warped rotor down the road!

Get a laptop! They're available (refurbished) for around 250....lots of uses..you'll love it
