I had posted this on SHOTimes, but since I'm still in limbo and I really need to get this radio into Joy's new car before she gets home if possible, I'll see if anyone here has any more info ..

Does anyone know of a place that sells the wiring kit to use the JBL amps? Best Buy supposedly says their $20 kit will use or bypass. Has anyone used their kit? The local car audio shop says about $20 for the bypass kit and $60 for the JBL kit, but they can't get them anymore. Go figure. So Best Buy is my only option at the moment, if they do have the kit. (I did find out that the kit that uses the JBL stuff only costs $10 to the retailer, so maybe all is not lost!) Any other solutions would be appreciated as well.

Thanks! :)

How bout you go buy the kit from Best Buy and let us know if it works! Don't sauder, just use the crimp-connectors. Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to make the 11 connections (8 speaker wires and 3 power wires if I recall). It's really very simple. If it doesn't work, take it back!

BTW, did I mention to let us know if it works?

Later, and good luck!

Well, I guess that's what I'll have to try. WalMart sells a ton of wiring kits as well, so I can always look there since its a few stores down from the Best Buy. Now that I know what all of the harnesses look like I can definitely pick one that should theoretically work. I guess the JBL stuff should end up plugging into the preouts of the regular stereo. Makes sense now that I think about it, duh. Well, I will certainly let you guys know how it ends up working. Hopefully I can repair the driver's side lumbar and throw the express down passenger module in too while I'm at it! Now if only I could find my stupid Ford radio removal clips....

Thanks,
Chris
