Wifi adapters will work with both Android and iOS. Bluetooth really only for Android, though some higher end adapters claim otherwise. OBDlink MX Bluetooth is a very good adapter.
If not logging a lot of PIDs, you can use Veepeak, iCar, or vGate brand of wifi adapters. They are cheap but work well enough. Some offer models with a sleep option, i would take that.
If the instrument cluster starts behaving strangely, do not panic. Doesn't happen to everyone. That just means your car does not like the adapter being plugged in at startup. Remove it after engine shutoff.
You will see better response times/quicker data updates if you do not use multiple wireless devices in the vehicle. Interference.
A licensed copy of Forscan Lite can datalog for later review. Just turn in the Live and Debug options. Then remember to save the session before exiting the dashboard, with the ignition still in ON but not RUN. I save as both FSL (Forscan proprietary format) and CSV. This way I can review offline in Forscan or my spreadsheet tool later, anytime.
