I wasnt impressed by Sunbusters. They did a crappy job on the rear window.

its really easy all you do is put the tint on the outside and then cut it to fit the windowand get in the car open the door spray the window down and then peel it back and have someone spray it makes it a lil bit easier while you peel and apply and get the bubles out.i did my ****** by myself while i sat in the car.lol was alot of fun.

He meant fitting it on the outside to cut the tint to size and then appling it to the inside:thumb: I did my own on my 92slo it came out good but took along time and was a pain in the a$$ and i dont think i would do it again

my theory is that you cant beat a professional job

I agree.. I don't think I've ever seen a good do-it-yourself tint job, unless it was done by someone who does pro tinting as part of their day job anyway. It's just one of those things you're better off paying a pro to do since it doesn't cost that much anyway.

if i was to do it myself again i would just take the windows out or use my spare ones and tint them and then put the windows back in BUT i would rather pay the money, my brother got his car done at kartunes for one of their 100 specials that they play on the radio all the time his turned out good, oh and he didnt have the cupon he just went in and asked and they gave him the deal

I've done one car. Never again. It is such a visible part of the car, and any imperfections, trapped dust, or creasing of the tint when pulling the backing off, and it makes the whole thing look horrible. The sides are not too bad, but the rear is a bear, heat guns, and all the hassle isn't worth it. I'd rather spend the money and let them deal with any issues that may come up, and enjoy a top-job every day when I look at the car.

There is nothing wrong with not skimping on someone's expertise, if it's worth it.

hmm i finally got a quote back from kartunes... they said:

150 for the entry level (Jet)

175 for the stealth

200 For the high performance

250 for the platinum plus

what would you guys reccomend... the entry level has a 3 year warranty, but is 100% dyed tint... which ive not heard too much good about, but if this is the one for $100 i think it might be worth it, for three years atleast

Joe, is this what your brother went with? does it still look good? what percent did he get? do you have pictures?

Edit: i also got a quote back in feb. from Blackout Tint service for the llumar tint at 225, of course lifetime warranty...
