...was extremely easy!
Can you tell which motor is the newer one laughing :

Here is the door with the panel off; notice how rusty the area where the motor teeth meet the circular window glass lifter is:

Here is that little section soaking in WD-40:

The new motor works great and only took 3 bolts to remove/install. The new one bolted right in with no problems. Just make sure you don't break any christmas tree tabs when pulling the door panel off. Now I don't have to drive around with just 3 windows down wink

I have to replace the motor on the same door in my car. Just have to pick up a new used motor. Although the weight savings from not having that behemoth in there is nice.

I hear that...but the motor doesn't weigh that much! I usually run without my spare which makes a pretty noticable difference. Who needs one when you have AAA?

Keep an eye out on ebay for a RR motor, or if you want, when I return next week I'll hit up the local junkyard (I've seen a few SHOs there) and pull the RR motor for you...just pay me for shipping and exactly what I got it for thumb Shoot me a PM and I'll get back to you when I return from vacation on monday.

Thanks, but the local junkyard told me $35 for one. They've got a whole bunch of Gen I SLO's. I just have to take the time to drive down there.

The replacement is very straightforward. The door panel has 2 screws I believe. Just be careful when you pull it off the door. The motor replacement is also easy. To answer your questions, no, there are no rivets.

Teg,

The motor is held in with mounting screws, but the forward regulator mounting plate may be held in place with 1/4 inch rivets. The regulator mounting plate rivets have to be drilled out in order to get the motor out. rangerj
