I plan on putting some 99 SHO wheels on my 93 MTX. Whats the widest size tire I can fit on the 16"x6.5" wheel? Do you guys know whats the widest tire possible on the Gen II SHO's? Thanks

I think you can run a 235 series tire on the OEM Gen III wheel, and I think they are 16x7's. I'm not sure if you can run 235's on the same wheel on a Gen II; there might be some concern with the tire rubbing the struts. 225/55/16 is OEM size.

You can probably get away with 225's on the Gen II, but you don't want to go too much wider than what is recommended for the wheel width.

I have run 245s on my oem wheels, but they are at the limit and leave only about half an inch to the struts. In addition, they are the widest that Bridgestone indicated would fit those wheels, and to get optimum performance, the wheels really should have been a bit wider. As noted by Mike just above, the real question is if the wider tires will touch your struts on a Gen II. You should check with the people on the suspension mods section for Gen I/II since someone there is more likely to know.
