When comparing the coilpacks from a '92 SHO and a '93 Auto SHO I discovered that I could not put the '93 coilpack in the '92 SHO. The '93 coilpack is keyed so you can't plug it into the '92 SHO. I have no idea why they would be different. The '93 is an automatic so it has a slightly larger engine, 3.2L, but why would Ford put a different coilpack in the auto, or maybe the coilpack is upgraded somehow from a '92 to a '93. I also heard a rumor that the coilpacks are actually the same and you just have to file off the key in order to swap between the '93 auto to a '92. Does anybody know for sure what the difference is? Also if I can use the '93 coilpack in my '92.

Thanks,
Trevor

I have no idea if there are any differences other than the key, but I filed and switched the coil packs between my 92 and 95 many years ago. No problems that I know of.

Yea I didnt think there was a difference either.
