A note to the community of SHO enthusiasts.
Thanks for nothing.
I bought a 94 SHO 1 1/2 years ago and just sold it for almost nothing, as it needed $1800 in repairs(water pump, leaking valve cover gaskets, power steering pump leaking and noisy)
It was in above avg condition of the ones I looked at, but turned out to be a piece of crap that broke down frequently.
Parts are expensive, dealers know nothing, and the car is very expensive to modify relative to the expected power gains, and the interior falls apart.

Unless you are a mechanic with access to cheap parts, these cars are just not worth it. Fast cars are just too cheap now for anyone to mess with SHOs. Try a new Turbo Neon at 21k with 230hp to the wheels, 5 year old camaros z28s at 13k for 300 rwhp. If you can make a payment of $350 a month and can put down the $4000 you would spend on a SHO, you can get a 3.5 Altima that blows away a SHO and has a warranty. Even a base 160hp Accord at 15k plus $1000 worth of intake and exhaust will nip at the heels of a SHO.

A marginal family car + uselessly expensive and complex motor = waste of money.

Note: I have nothing against older cars, as I have an 87 Turbo Regal also. It is fast, rarely has mechanical prolems, and is cheap to fix when it does have a problem.

Thats why most of us fix our own cars :p

If I didn't enjoy working on it, I wouldn't have it. Its a way for me and my dad to spend time together, and for him to teach me some of his mechanical skills. We have built houses together, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, Trailers, etc... My favorite to work on is the SHO...I have already learned alot.
