All,

I have a '93 with premium sound (single amp no sub) and have been attempting to swap to the JBL set (two amps and a sub), but have not had any luck. When I plug the JBL system in I simply do not get sound - all of the hook ups match up - not sure what I am doing wrong here...

And yes, I agree that a cheap aftermarket would be better, but I have the JBL setup on hand and it is $0 :)

Thanks in advance!

Boat95sho had to get an adpter to run his with an aftermarket headunit. That's what you might have to do? I hope everything works out of you

I am actually using the stock head unit. All of the connections are in the trunk, but when i plug the JBL amps in I stop getting music...unplug the JBL and plug in the premium amp...and the music resumes.

You have a 92? If you are using a gen1 jbl amp setup I believe it won't work, you have to use the gen 2 jbl amp. Ford switched in 92 from 12v to 5v I believe, jelloslug can tell you all about it, he knows all about it.

Sorry the name is misleading - i use to have a 92 - i now have a 93 and the amps are from a Gen II

Nonetheless, thanks for the post!
