Did you guys ever figure out what the whining during acceleration noise was? My 2010 with 94k is going the same thing. I had an old Grand Marquis, that made a similar noise, so i'm not extremely concerned, but, I guess I would still like to know... Thanks in advance

Resurrecting an old thread... I'm having a similar issue in my 2013 SHO non PP 44k miles, I just got a new set of Continental DWS06 tires coming from some lower end Michelins, though it doesn't seem to be tire related as the whine changes pitch with the RPMs rather than the speed of the vehicle (but only when in gear) so I feel like it'd almost have to be transmission related. Fluid seems fine, not brand new by any means but still pink, a little burnt smelling but nothing crazy, I took it for a 10 min drive going through all gears (to unsettle any possible metal shavings) and rechecked the fluid, I found some very fine metallic dust in the fluid that had a gritty feel between my fingers not sure how much (if any) of this stuff is considered acceptable.

Don't y'all hate it when folks ask for advice and never report the results?

It is frustrating shaker, but if the op’s life is crazy busy I totally understand.
I went from summer tires to the extreme contact continentals. The sound that these tires make are much different than the summer tires. Almost like the sound the op is describing.

I'm running the Contis and like them but they are louder than the Goodyear summers that came on the car. I do feel these cares are pretty quiet overall but the tire noise is noticeable.
