Can anybody recommend a safe but not expensive strut spring compressor? I'm finding them online for between $30 to about $50.

"clam shell" from harbor freight #43753-0VGA $39.00 I bought one of ebay for nearly twice that, then saw this one, same exact item. I've used it several times in the last few months, the only complaint i have is that the aluminum cross bars want to bind on the threads of the main bolt while you are trying to remove the tension from the spring after installing a new strut. Other than that, way better than having to pay to have it done.

Why not use the 'loan-a-tool' program from Autozone? Put down a deposit and then get refunded when you return it = free. ;)
