Hi,
My Brother's 93 mtx needs a water pump, and i was wondering if i should get a new or remanufactured one. I saw that midwest sho had rebuilt ones for $85. I can get a new one from AutoZone for about $180-185. I'm going to ask Brother which he prefers the next time i talk to him(he's halfway around the world right now). I know the SHO is unusal/awesome; is there anything i need to watch out for? I appreciate all responses.

Call your local NAPA store an ask about a part number WP571353. With core charge of $4.44, it is still less than $46 and is the cardone pump already mentioned.

If you have an O'Reilley's nearby, you can get the Cardone for $49.99 plus $10 core.

The Cardone remanufactured pumps have been very good performers with few problems. For the price difference, it doesn't make any sense to purchase the whole pump as the back half has no wear parts.

Make certain you also get the pump o-ring set, available separately from FelPro. It has the new pump-to-block and the new pump-to-crossover tube o-rings in it.
