When to run cylider balance test?

I want to run this test but I'm unsure as to when to start it. Do I do it after I've done the KOER test, or before it? Right now I'm thinking that I do it after I've "goosed" it and the codes have been flashed. Thanks

After all the codes stop while doing the KOER test, you then hit the accelerator and release it.
The cylinder balance test will then start.
You do not do it before the KOER test.

OK...so I ran the cylinder balance test. Came up 5, 3, 8. What's the deal with the 8? Maybe I didn't count right but it flashed twice and both times I counted 8. Anyone know what the 8 means? Also, which cylinders are 3 and 5? Thanks thumbs_u

Number one cylinder is on the back bank of cylinders, left (passenger side), number 5 should be the front middle.

The 538 just means that there was insufficient rpm change during KOER test/invalid cylinder balance test due to throttle movement during test.

Basically, it didn't work.

I found that it is best after the KOER test is done just to tap the gas pedal (1/4 throttle and quick release). Don't stand on it.
That's what worked for me anyways. Either way, you did not get a 5-3-8...you got a 538 as once code, so your 5 and 3 cylinders may well be fine. If you have an 8 cylinder, that means you have a Gen III and you didn't know it
