I was wondering if anybody else stuffed some 18 wheels under their SHO. I found a set of 18x8(5x108) with 235/40's on them for $400 and they actually look pretty good. They going to fit?

Kris (ddarkt) has wheels, not rims, very similiar to those on his blue '94. They look great on his car but then again his SHO is so freakin nice any wheels would look good on it

Thanks Jamie! Appreciate the kind word my friend. I dunno about any wheels would look good on the car part though. Check out the pic below, American Racing Estrellas.




The wheels OP posted, while looking similar, seems to be different like Jamie said. The lug area looks different, as does the hub and the fake bolts.


As for them fitting, they need to be around 38mm offset and fenders will likely need to be rolled. I have 245/40 on my car and I shredded a tire before I got the fenders rolled, there is also very little clearance between the tire and the strut too (around 2mm)...


It's extremely tight back there.

If the wheels fit, are in good condition and not bent, and tires still have decent tread. Do pick them up! Doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

A Eastwood fender roller and a heat gun.


And with the fender rolled.


Look on your local Mustang forum, someone might have a roller available for rent. This was how I found mine.

absolutly, trying to warm up the paint so it is a little more plyable and does not crack when the fenders are rolled back

Awesome fender tool. As the others have asked, did the heat gun help with not cracking the paint?

Not too bad, considering buying one is about $300 for the Eastwood model.

A Google search using "fender rolling tool rental" turned up a bunch of sites....

Thats the one we bought here in St Louis. Its a very nice tool. The heat gun is an art. you have to be careful not to heat the paint oo much, as it will bubble. Other than that, its pretty simple and works well.

Found the Eastwood ones on Ebay also, about $250 shipped. ****, a Craigslist ad and a few customers would pay for this thing in a week. Hmm...

We all (The St Louis SHO Club) pitched in on it. It's a great idea. We set ground rules before we purchased it though... Can never be too careful.
