Wheel stud replacement

So, I take the boat in because TPMS says low air. Tire shop takes the wheels off, repairs and then tells me I have a cross threaded stud. Asks me did I have any work done lately. I say yes, you guys rotated the tires and replaced the lug nuts. So they're paying to have it replaced. My question is what's involved with the work? I've searched the forums and Goggle but there isn't really an answer. Any insight or links would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pull the rotor off, pull the shield off the back and bang it out. I did my fronts when i bought my car. 2 are usually harder to hit back in because no room unless you got a fancy automatic hammer

Do everything that yacandy said, but find yourself a plain lug nut that fits the stud and flip it around so that the flat side is facing inward. Sandwich a flat washer between the lug nut and the hub. Tighten this up as much as you can up to 100 lb of torque. If this doesn't pull the stud all the way through, then back the nut off a few turns and use a tie rod and pickle fork and tap it in until the stud seats. I have used this trick a few times before.

There is a few ways of removing them studs, depends on what you got laying around. Id look online for some stud removal tricks, maybe one will work best for our platform.
Make sure its on a sturdy jack stand also as you will probably be sitting in the wheel well. Cars are heavy, i had my stripped miata fall on me. Few hundred pounds at the point that fell on me but still hurt me.

A 5 lb swing press will remove the stud from the hub. Next step is angle of the dangle to get it out and new one in. The new one is pulled in to the hub with something. It could be a sacrificial lug nut and some washers, or one may use the intended tool.
