I am looking to buy some new voxx:naughty: wheels and I dont nkow if I should buy the 17x8 or 17x9's. How hard is it to get 9 in. wide tires to fit and is it really worth the trouble for just and extra in.

I run 18x8.5 on my Gen 2 SHO with 235/40 tires.

Perfect fit in the front. Do not stick out beyond the fender, and ~5mm clearance to strut.

Extremely close to rubbing the strut in the rear. Removed fender lip.

You can probably fit 17x9 assuming you don't go bigger than a 235 tire. Though it may require a 5mm wheel spacers in the rear to clear the strut. You could probably fit a 245 too with a 10mm spacer, but now the tire will stick out beyond the fender in the front, which I personally don't like.

Also, it'll be important to remove the rear fender lip. Especially you must remove the lip all the way down to, and including ~3-4" of, the plastic ground effect molding in the front of the tire...cause this is where the tire thread will get cut...not at the top!! I'm speaking from experience.....:omg:
