I have an 89 in Currant red, I'm wondering if anyone has some aftermarket wheels on their cars, what did you all go with? I would really like to see some pictures of your wheels so I know what they look like before I buy. Also, is "kedelbach" still on, his pic of his green 89 SHO shows it using 96+ SHO wheels? Will these work? In fact, will any 96+ SHO wheels work on an 89?

Thanks all...

Phil

in the past week or two, there have been posts on the wheel topic stating what will fit and what we have for custom wheels on our cars. do a search or just scroll back through the topics and you will see them.

Hey Jeremy, what did you do to the grille, hard to make it out, but looks modified, SHO me more!

Yes, but your 89 Currant red probably runs better and definitely looks better than mine! But I'm on that!

The other thread is still running in the forum below, appearence mods. The 96'-on Sho rims will work on the 89'. I'll have pictures up within the next few days with 3rd Gen wheels on my 91'.

ok first off the rims. i bought them from www.victoriatire.com (you may need to type the address im manually)i think they were around 150 a piece and as the sig. says they are made by Alessio, the model it Turbo, the color is Hyper black

The grill on the otherhand is a simple and very cheap mod. Its just the stock grill where i cut all but a "frame" out of it so its compleatly open, you then glue in (securely with epoxy putty) either the grill mesh they sell, or (what i used) the steel mesh they make for laying concrete. the new grill im working on has just two cutouts on the sides with the center section intact. after im done the new grill i will get pics of them side by side.

Now those 5 spoke chrome wheels look very good on that car, and 16" to boot. Didn't they also make a painted 5 spoke for the later SHO's as well?

Now if I could just get the rest of this stuff fixed (radiator, clutch, struts) I would buy a set of those rims!

Thanks for the pics...

Phil
