Hey guys, put new rubber on my car and haven’t launched it yet so not sure if that’s solved it but ever since I’ve gotten my car I have some crazy wheel hop when I get on it, especially when I launch and when It hits 2nd and every once and a while 3rd. Any sort of bushing upgrades or anything I should do?

I thought I had wheel hop as well. Even with brand new Conti DWS06's. IT WASN'T! It was actually trans shutter.

My advice, get 5 quarts of Mercon LV Transfluid. Just like doing an oil change, drop the trans pan plug, and let it drain. Only 4-5 quarts will come out of the pan (that is normal). Measure how much came out, and check to see if it is burnt or if there is clutch pack material in it. You have to remove the air box to gain access to the trans fill cap. Add the measured amount of clean fluid back in and report back. After I did that my shutter went away. I would recommend trans fluid cycling each oil change for 4 to 5 time. Getting that old fluid out will help everything.

I would also advise you to wait until the car (engine oil and trans fluild) are up to operating temps before letting her rip tater chip. I usually wait until the trans temp is into the 120 degrees range. I am pretty OCD about my trans and it's fluid. Every 3,000 miles I change my oil, and cycle in/out 5 quarts of trans fluid.

Disclaimer: I do not daily my SHO. However, I drive her very spirited a couple of times a week. I use a very extreme maintenance schedule on mine.

If you had wheel hop on the stock tune, it is only going to get worse on the custom tune. But you have new tires on there, hopefully better tires. Traction is an interaction between many factors - tire, tire pressure, road surface, temperatures, and powertrain. Fingers crossed it is just a fluid/tire issue. Like SM105K said, fresh fluid is a fresh start.

Is it wheel hop, or are the tires loosing traction and then traction control is kicking in. From what I have seen, poor traction results in the SHOs "skipping" the front tires, but this is not wheel hop. You're just loosening traction. If you had a non-AWD cars without traction control, you'd just be spinning your tires.

Not sure, traction control lights do come on, definitely gonna flush the transmission and everything when I get the chance too however

Since you have a PP, turn all the nannies off and try again.

Edit: There is someone who makes links to help reduce wheel hop that I saw a month or so back on the SHO FB group.

Lowering springs or coils will help. Someone on one of FB pages was selling solid trans mounts, those will help as well.
