Wheel hop?

I was backing out, and heard what I think is the top of my strut mount pop again, and when I let the clutch out nice and easy, as the weight transfered or whatever it felt as if the front wheel was hopping along. Any ideas?

I tried searching for wheel hop but nothing really comes up because hop being a 3 letter word and all... and wheel is way too vague.

could it have been power steering? I know you mentioned your rack was making some crazy noise and I've felt power steering chatter before in SHOs.

Nah, I found that the other day to be that pinch bolt needed another 1/8 of a turn. But I still get a little pop when the weight transfers and I turn the wheel like that.

It makes me think I need to put an extra set of washers on both sides of the strut rod bushings there at the control arm. Because it reminds me of that feeling or shudder when those were allowing the strut rod to telescope a little.

Im looking at having James fab me up a G3 subframe, so maybe I can put the strut rod thing to bed.

Good choice. The whole process is pretty easy and you will not have the stupid clunk from strut rods anymore. Well worth it. Even small things like how the pinch bolt on the knuckle has a studded nut so all you do is tighten and go makes working on the frame easier.

I'm looking at having James fab me up a G3 subframe, so maybe I can put the strut rod thing to bed.

Hoping to get Green home soon with this mod. Just not sure how that's going to happen with only one working foot!
