Hey has anyone ever had to replace a front wheel bearing on their car. I think mine are goin, sometimes, usually when the car is warmed up, or driven at least 10 miles i start hearing a droning sound coming from the front. It sounds about half as bad as my mom's old mercedes did when its front wheel bearing went, but it still has some of the same sound. Anyone know how much one of these would be to have replaced, or does anyone have expirence with these types of sounds being something other than a wheel bearing? thanks

jack the car up and test the wheel plat at the 12 and 6 oclock positions. If there is play then the wheel bearing is bad. Normally when I have had a bad wheel bearing their is play and you will have vibration at highway speeds.

A search will reveal many posts on this subject :thumb:

As far as cost I don't know because I do it myself. I know the bearing and hub cost around $50. Not sure how much for labor ;)

Normally a good idea to replace both when you do wheel bearings.
