When I get going about 45-50mph I start to hear a loud howl noise comming from the front end, I believe its the right tire. I am almost positive its a wheel bearing correct? Are these a PITA to change? :squint:

It kinda sounds like a wheel bearing. A good way to check is to jack up the car and see if the wheel moves up or down. If it moves in either of those directions, you have a bad wheel bearing. They are really not that bad to change to me because I have had the knuckle off so many times. Do that test and post your results. You can get a bearing and hub at AZ for like 60 bucks. If it is bad, let me know when you wanna change it and I will help. I also have someone to press the old stuff out and the new in.

When you turn one way or the other does it quite making the sound? That will help us tell what bearing is bad.

Normally whatever way you turn and it quits is the bad bearing. I might have this backwards but I am pretty sure i dont.

Some will say you need to replace both bearings and you can but I have not always found that to be true. I just replaced my front driver side bearing on my 1998 Taurus. 1 year almost to the day the other front bearing went out.

On other cars this hasnt happened at all so its your call.
