Hey guys. ive been having some problems when driving my 92 3.0 SHO. For some reason when im staying at a constant speed it likes to jolt as if its losing power..Ive checked the air filter, fuel filter, and figure i might as well change the spark plugs and see what we get. So anyways what is the best kind of spark plug to use? I know there are alot of them but is there any real difference for the SHO to use? Also if anyone has any suggestions as to my actual problem, more than welcome to add on. Thanks.

double check all of your grounds. there are lots of them. They'll be the wires bolted to the unibody. loose grounds have caused much headbanging.

Plugs are good for a long time; unless they are haven;t been changed in a long time, check grounds and also worth it to clean the MAF filament with either MAF cleaner or electronics cleaner (Radio shack.)
Remove the MAF from the air cleaner housing, remove the screen and clean the filament very gently using the spray and little brush thingy on the end.

Shit plugs can cause the engine to run poorly even if they aren't old. I'd use the Motorcraft Double Platinum or FineWire plugs, or Autolite Double Platinums. I'm currently running Autolite PP3924.

Is your "jolt" happening all the time?

Oem or I use ngk in mine and it likes them when it does the surge does your climate controll or anything else cut out or reset if so bad ground or the little wire that runs to the positve terminal is not getting a good conection had that happen with me but start with plugs and keep us posted

The original plug is proven to be reliable for at least 40K +. The finewire version also gets the job done. Anything else but motorcraft or autolite is out the window.

Plugs are probably not the problem, unless you find water in the plug wells. Be sure to blow the wells out with air to clean out debris before removing the old plugs.

Motorcraft here... will continue to use them as long as they're available, which probably won't be much longer... lol

well im pretty sure the plugs and wires are stock ones. the guy who had it before me never really drove it (after 10 years) so now the kinks are coming out for me. but it kicks usually when im in 3rd or 4th gear at constant speed. say going 30 or 40. in 5th its fine, usually. just feels like when it kicks that there isnt any power/juice for a split second and comes back. but anyways im going to replace the plugs and plug wires soon just for the **** of it and see where that takes me.

The "best" plugs are the ones originally designed for the engine - Ford/Motorcraft AGSP-32PP

. . . . but they've long since been discontinued. You can find them here or there, but it is becoming increasingly difficult.

There are a number of plugs that work well. One I haven't seen mentioned are the Denso PK16R11. Ken also found another Denso plug that looked compatible, but I don't recall the part number.

Oh Ken . . . . . . . . .

I've heard so many argue that OEM are the best; Rapidfires fit and have worked perfectly for several years in mine; switched to E3 diamondfires in the SHO and Diamante, runs great and fit same as OEM; pulled out the front bank after several thousand miles and no deposits seen.

If there is oil in the plug wells then you also need to replace the valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals.

X2 on autolite iridium. But stick with OEM wires, My taylor 8.2's don't seat right and stick up and leave about a 1/8" gap between the boot and the valve cover. You might be able to fashion your own o-ring type gasket but I honestly don't believe the spark system contributes to power whatsoever.
