I need a replacement seal/gasket for the UPPER part of the timing cover. So far all I can find is the cam seals, front main seals, and lower cover gasket. I have tried autozone and kragens, but cannot find the right one. I tell them I need the upper timing cover seal/gasket and all it comes up with is the cam seals. So what is it called or does anyone have a P/N for it?
Also, where do you get water pumps from? they list for 194.99 at the zone and I remember reading here that they could be had for like 60 bucks?!
Thanks for any help

This will more than likely be a Ford part...Try your local dealership. I went to the parts counter and they printed out an exploded diagram of the engine, and all related gaskets with the P/N listed. It appears that a good P/N to look at is 6020(Ford). This has a total of 4 gaskets included in this set. Again, this is not gospel, but maybe a starting point.

Try the following for your H2O pump: RockAuto.com

Good Luck

The MTX Cardone water pump number is 571273, the ATX pump number is 571458. The MTX costs $48.16 from rockauto.com, the ATX is a few dollars more. You get $10 back when you send them your old core water pump. The part you get is the front cover of the pump and contains the wearable parts (impeller and seal) and includes new gaskets to attach the pump to the pump body.

The kit does not include the 'O' rings attaching the pump body to the block and the outlet pipe to the pump body. You could reuse those 'O' rings, but why, when they cost less than $5. The "O' ring kit is Fel-Pro ES70425 and costs $4.88, also from rockauto.com IMHO you need to remove the pump body from the block and then separate the front cover of the pump from the pump body, so that you'll be able thoroughly clean the gasket mating surface.

Good luck on those timing cover gaskets. As I've found out a lot of those parts are obsolete from Ford. If you get the part number from your local dealer, you could try partsvoice.com or maybe greenleaf. Your best bet may be your local junkyard.

For anybody about to do your 60K maintenance, be careful removing those timing covers. Those gaskets are meant to be reusable, but can be damaged (ripped) when removing the covers, because they may be stuck to the block.
