I know I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I'm a failure at the search engine. Just wondering from practical experience which brand Meth Kit would be best for somebody that is mechanically inclined, however not electrically inclined when it comes to working on cars. I want the easiest most reliable kit to install, and money is not an issue. I've been looking at the Snow Performance Stage 2 kit with the guage included but haven't seen any of those installed on a SHO. My car is a 2013 with a Livernois tune, 3 bar map, cold temp and plugs. I'm getting bored with the current setup (ran a 12.9 @106 recently) and I want to go faster. I've been told meth is the way to go over exhaust mods.

Well... if you want to stick with LMS then you probably should go with their kit... I believe that's the only kit they are willing to tune for...

Alky Control Systems...

If you have a Livernois tune then you're going to have to go with the Livernois kit unless you want to also switch to a new tuner. Livernois only tunes for their kits.

*EDIT* I shouldn't open multiple tabs and then get back to responding later. Same advice as stated above.

I just installed the Alky Meth Kit myself earlier this week...

It's not a hard install, it just takes time. There is a fair amount of electrical work... tapping into a sensor, fuse block, grounds... running new wiring... the mounting of the pump and new tank for window washer fluid is fairly simple...

Just time consuming, but Julio the maker of the kits is a really nice guy who will answer questions you might have..

I like that snow has a throttle plate dual injection and that you can do your own sort of tuning with the controller but most likely I will want to just have it ether on for Max performance or off for best mpg so I have no real opinion on the matter I could go with just what the tuner preference is.

Well that sucks I can only go with LMS's Alky kit..........I really like how the Snow Performance Stage 2 kit comes with a multi purpose boost/meth guage.

I will say that the alky kit from LMS is expensive... BUT it is a fully progressive system... and based on my experience this past week, LMS doesn't have tunes premade for them per se.... mine was a custom one off... I think for the 2013+ they have some premade tunes.. not sure...

If you do buy from LMS you get a discount on a dyno tune for the system... according to them via phone... I don't have that in writing...

If you really want the snow kit then buy a new tuner and the snow stage 2 kits. Going that route will actually be very slightly cheaper than the LMS meth kit. But IMO if you're going to spend that much money regardless of route then you might as well go with the LMS meth kit. The only downside I've ever heard from the kit is price and you're pretty much locked into that price if you want meth.

I'm very curious about the DevilsOwn kit, DVC-30 I believe. Anyone running one of these?

Just don't mod Snow's kit or pay less than full price. They will not honor the warranty in either case.

Former: 1995 ATX, 1992 MTX

I am going to purchase a stage 3 (was told that I would get the most horsepower and a better power band using the stage 3 snow system) but I have not pulled the trigger bc there's a guy on eBay and http://sohiperformance.com/i-2154067.aspx?gclid=CJfiysOOqtQCFUhWDQodzk4Nxg selling the kit for $635, while most places have it at $899 which is msrp. You would recommend spending the extra $260 for warranty sake? Is failure common? How long does the warranty last? I also don't fully grasp the benefit of direct port injection and the cost difference in comparison to the typical stage 3. Is it just an extra $250-350 for the ported intake or are there more parts required? I like the look and even distribution of juice, but I do not want to spend a crazy amount of money (no more than 400 over stage 3, my line in the sand is $1299)Tuner is Torrie (unleashed)

The main failure component is the pump which runs around $150... so if you are getting it for $200 less from a reputable place. I would do it...

Occasionally you hear about the controller going bad but not sure the costs on that...

As far as the direct port, I don't know if LMS or Prometh is selling the manifolds per drilled and setup yet... so it's quite a bit of work if they are not.

The main benefit is a more even distribution of the meth. From what I understand and my own datalogging.. bank 1 tends to get a bit more of the meth than bank 2... so when you are tuning it that is something that needs to be considered... a more even supply of meth to all the cylinders would mean a safer injection and better tuneablity.

I'm beginning to regret getting an LMS tune at this point. Their basic tune on a basic stock Taurus won't pass emissions and now I'm learning I can only buy THEIR meth kit. Hmmm...Kinda feel like I wasted $1000 on their setup. Oh well. I'm sure I will catch plenty of flame for those comments. I'm sure they are great company and all but why should I have to buy their meth kit when the one I want comes equipped with far better stuff for less $$. Sounds like a solid marketing plan for them.

And just to be clear....by switch to a new tuner....does that mean I have to buy an entirely new handheld tuner? If so sheesh.

Yes, you will need a new hand held...

And the Alky Control Kit comes with top of the line gear... who has better parts?

LOL No flame, but you really have to do your research, LMS is certainly more expensive then the other providers but from what I have heard and seen there customer service is pretty awesome, they are very proactive on social media answering customer questions, and they do a lot of product development. I understand your disappointment BUT keep in mind we are talking about very expensive components on a very expensive motor, my guess they would tell you its very easy to destroy someones engine and there components are designed to be safe an work together. What happens when someone uses there tune an another manufactures meth kit and the engine detonates. Next thing you know they get blamed and it might not even be there fault. In addition you really should have known that once you put a tune on a car it will not pass emission test, that has been well documented an discussed out here and on other forums. In fact if you do your research you will learn most aftermarket down pipes even the ones with cats will throw codes and cause you to fail which makes no since to me ether. Just my two cents, Have a great day.

I was just quoted 750 to have it installed. Installer suggest using aem instead of a snowstorm stage III. Reasoning is that it is much more reliable and less expensive with the same power outside. Install plus kit would run $1200 for the aem. $1350 for the snowstorm kit plus install. Recommendations?

Snow has experienced a slew of warranty claims as of the last year or so, none of which were satisified to the end purchaser's delight.

I would steer clear of them from all that I've read/seen.
