aluminum oxidation, that last picture coloring is off. the other pictures of the engine is probably more representative.
I had one car that sat in a barn over a couple of winters and the condensation ended up doing the same thing to my engine.

Or they sprayed the engine with some carb or brake cleaner that made the intake's clearcoat bubble and peel.
