I own a very clean 93 ATX 117k miles .. it is starting to have trans issues (go figure). I have been thinking about building this car.. mtx swap, brake upgrade, suspension, and adding a power adder. I want to build a fast canyon carver.. Just wondering if i should attemp the mtx swap. (which i have done on a couple 5.0's and a jeep.. yes I realize that this will be alot diff.) or should I try to off load this thing and start with a new car.. whats a car worth with a trans issue.. trans just slips between 1 & 2 really quick..

rebuild the tranny then use it as a daily or sell it.

Swaps are alot of work and cheaper/easier to find an MTX.

I'd keep it since SHO's sell for roughly nothing. I'd probly pick up a trans from a junkyard and use an upgraded high stall torque converter..... SHO's might be dated and 4 doored, but theyre alot of bang for the buck performancewise.....

you should seriously try the MTX swap there is a huge difference noticed plus you can join the 3.2 mtx club and check around someone everyone was satisfied with the swap said makes a huge difference thats well worth it .... ATX suck anyways they rob power performance and gas and you dont get the handling or response that mtx gets, i said go for it theres more then enough info floating around on the swap

if you think your mechanically capable of doing the mtx swap and have time for it then do it. it would be well worth it, but if you really cant, then just use as a daily driver and go buy another mtx.
