No that I have my sho up and running. I was wondering what whould be some good low dollar mods??

I was thinking a drop in k&n filter. Maybe a 73mm mass aif flow meter. I don't want to change any driveabiltiy. I drive the car at least 300 miles weekly.

I don't want to come off sounding like the other that tell ya to do a search, but someone posted this very same question like a month ago. Give it a try.

Few things you can do are simple.

1. Pull out the cone assembly from the fenderwell, lets more air flow and sounds much better. $Free

2. Get a K&N panel (oiled cotton) filter or AMSoil (Oiled Foam) filter. Foam filters suposedly filter better than cotton gauze and also allow more airflow, I love mine. $40-50

3. Clean out your intake. Up to 12 cans of berryman's are needed. (Mine needed 7) $2.50 a can at Walmart.

4. If you don't buy into the whole debate on not using synthetic oil in a SHO, changing to synthetic will free up a little HP (reduced friction) and give you a little better MPG. It also lubricates faster on startup which is never a bad thing. Extended drains with AMSoil are possible, 1 oil change every 25k to 30k is nice. Even Mobil 1 is safe for a 5k-7k drain if not longer. ~$30-$40

5. replace your sparkplugs if they are getting up there in miles. A full set is roughly under $40, but make sure you get the real ford ones.

6. Go to www.shotimes.com and read up there

Depending on where you live you can take your thermastat out. I would do it only in the summer or in hotter areas. If you live in a colder area the engine will over-cool. Plus if your heater wont work for you very well. But if you do this it keeps you engine cooler all the time. So when you run it for a long time or harder you lose as much power due to overheating or just hotter engine. Take the air silencer out of your fender well. You can also make your own custom-home made ram air. Just take your signal light out and you can run heater duct through the fender and bumper and put it up in your grill to catch cold air. Keeping your engine well maintained is another thing. Use synthetic oils to reduce friction and free up power. You can use an octane boost, my favorite is "Chevron Techron" its a really good fuel cleaner. Everyone I recommended it to notice a difference in freed up power caused by clogged injectors and cleans carbon off of everything it touches. This stuff is really good. You can also get k and n panel filter or just take you filter out.

Taking your filter out and removing the thermostat can hurt your engine so do it if you want I would recommend keeping filter off all the time.
