I am looking to buy some rims for my Gen II. It is a '92 mtx black. I want 18 x 8, and I want them to be chrome. I really want to get a set of cobra r replicas, but I don't know if there are any that will fit the sho. Are there? I heard something about the ones they put on the thunderbird, are those chrome and do they still make them? Any info would be great! Thank you

I did use the search function for about an hour and didn't find that much information that I needed. I just saw a bunch of people arguing about what sizes would and wouldn't fit the sho. I am just looking for someone who has actually had some cobra replicas on their car without any problem.

Not chrome but they do have them, I just don't have a pic. I think "SHOTIME" has the cobra wheels. The new owner 89SHOduff on the forum.

By Cobra R replica's do you mean the 17x7 version? Which are the Thunderbird rims you are talking about, or the "real" 18x9 size? Also I dont think they make them in 18x8 and the 18x9 have a too low of a offset for there width which make them stick out a lot and doesnt look pretty IMO.

Are you open to any other type of 18x8 rim for the SHO or stuck on the Cobra look?

Just to throw it out there here's my SHO with 18x8's

RI-SHO...I have been looking at your car for a long time now. I am not sure if I like the Team Dynamic rims or not. When I say I have been looking at your car for a long time I mean a REALLY long time. I like the colore scheme you have going on. I have a '92 that is black, but I want to go with a blue color instead of a red, and I really don't like the Motorsports shade of blue on the center cap. I am definetly willing to go with a differet wheel, however I want it to be either a 5 or 6 spoke (or something that looks really similair to that star pattern) and I want it to be chrome! Is the poly-chrome that Team Dynamics offer a chrome or what, I don't understand what poly-chrome is and I can't differiantiate the sheades on the Team Dynamics web-site? What does it look like? Thank you RI-SHO for responding so soon.

One more thing...RI-SHO, what color is your motorsports? They have to be either silver, hi-power silver, or poly-chrome. Thanks again

Have you ever seen the frame of a polished motorcycle? It looks almost full chrome but you can tell it has been polished, if you know what I am talking about that is what Poly-Chrome looks like.

Now my rims are silver but in picture it tends to look white/hi-silver.

If you want to look at a library of pictures of rims that fit the SHO try www.superbuytires.com or ask any local tire/rim dealer for all the rims they can get in 18x8 with a 5x108mm bolt pattern and 40mm+ offset.

You could save a lot of money and buy these Axis Touring Cup's (no other SHO has these, custom drilled, reatil $279 each, before drilling). 18x7, look very sharp, Kumho Ecsta 712' still have plenty of life in them (the front are better than the rear at this time). Only $850.
